PT Diaries: The Journey Begins
(Post Re-Published from January 2021)
I’m on my way to becoming a Personal Trainer and thought I’d make a series of it on here to document the journey and this can go alongside the Instagram account I have made: @hannahkayfitness
I enrolled on my course back in November 2020 as a Black Friday deal from OriGym had caught my eye. I had been weighing up the pro’s and con’s of enrolling throughout the majority of 2020 and just kept putting it off for many reasons. I finally bit the bullet when I saw this deal pop up.
The courses I have enrolled on are:
Level 2 Fitness Instructor Certificate
Level 3 Personal Training Diploma
Level 3 GP Referral
Level 4 Nutrition in Weight Management & Athletic Performance
10 x Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Courses
I am studying these courses online, meaning I can do so alongside any other commitments I may have going on, e.g. I am in the final 6 months of my full time BA Degree meaning my priorities have to be split and elsewhere the majority of the time.
Due to me studying my courses online it means I am assessed fairly differently to others, I am tested on ‘Assignment Quiz’ questions which are majority multiple choice and receive my results straight away, ‘Assignment Questions’ which get sent off to an examiner to mark and send back within 10 working days. I then also have Case Studies throughout the courses which are similar to assignments or coursework, to round it all off I have to partake in a few sit down exams at the end of courses and then face-to-face assessment days.
On the day that this blog post is published (17/1/21), I have currently just completed my Module 6 of my Level 2, meaning I have one more Module to complete then I have two online exams to take and a face-to-face assessment and voila! I’ll have my Level 2 Gym Instructor in the bag! Bring on Level 3!
If you want to know more about my courses and journey so far, the Instagram account I mentioned earlier that I’ve set up is: @hannahkayfitness and I have a highlight on there rounding up the courses and a few Q&A answers too.
Any questions or if you generally just want to be nosey, don’t be afraid to drop me a DM on Instagram, or get in contact with me any other way you can. I can’t wait to share my journey on here to becoming a Personal Trainer! And remember if any of you are interested, I’m aiming to be qualified and taking clients on by the end 2021?
Thank you as always for reading,
Han xx
