PT Diaries: Passed My Level 2!
(Post Re-Published from May 2021)
Sunday 16th May I passed my Level 2 Gym Instructor course at Birmingham Anytime Fitness Edgebaston, with OriGym.
This now means I am a fully qualified Gym/Fitness Instructor! It’s my first step into becoming a Personal Trainer. It’s been a while since I did a PT Diaries update but I’ve had a lot on; I have now finished all my work for my BA Degree which I’ve been working towards and alongside that I was revising and studying for my Level 2 Assessment. Since I passed my assessment I have been celebrating and just taking in my last few weeks at university, spending time with friends and going into rehearsals for our final showcase before graduation.
For those of you that are a little confused with the difference between Level 2 and Level 3 in fitness qualifications, OriGym (the provider of my courses) have written a great blog post comparing the different levels which I’ll leave linked HERE if you want to have a nosey. They also have written one on what a Level 2 Gym Instructor can do once qualified which I’ll leave HERE.
Now I am Level 2 Qualified and coming to the end of my degree, I shall be moving back home soon and therefore am looking for a job within a gym or teaching classes to get me more hands on experience within the fitness industry. So, fingers crossed my next update will be that I have a job! In the meantime I am starting to study for my Level 3 and hopefully (providing COVID won’t interfere this time!) be passed nearing the end of summer.
If you fancy being nosey or want to get involved as soon as you can, I’ll be setting up some online fitness classes for people to take part in and for me to gain experience as well as looking for PT test clients closer to the time of me qualifying, so if you are interested do let me know!
Exciting times!
